Abacus Olympiad: Sharpening Young Minds Through Mental Math
“Where numbers become fun, and every child becomes a math wizard.”
At Soikholal Ideal High School, we proudly offer Abacus classes from Class I to Class VI, as part of our commitment to building strong foundational numeracy and cognitive skills. What makes our program truly special is the Annual Abacus Olympiad, a much-awaited event that challenges and celebrates the mental agility of our students.
Using finger-based and visual techniques, students learn to perform complex calculations mentally and quickly—without using calculators or paper. Conducted under expert guidance, our Abacus curriculum is designed to train both sides of the brain, improving concentration, memory, listening skills, and confidence.
Benefits of the Abacus Program:
Enhances speed and accuracy in calculations
Boosts problem-solving and analytical thinking
Develops focus and visual memory
Builds a positive attitude towards mathematics
The Abacus Olympiad not only brings out the competitive spirit in students but also gives them a platform to demonstrate their skills, track their progress, and gain recognition for their achievements.
This initiative makes us one of the few schools in the region to integrate Abacus so extensively into the curriculum—setting our students apart with a unique advantage in both academics and brain development.
