Handwriting Policy
At Soikholal Ideal High School, we believe that good handwriting is a reflection of discipline, clarity of thought, and attention to detail. Our handwriting policy is designed to nurture neatness, consistency, and pride in written work across all grades.
📘 Our Approach
We encourage students to develop legible and confident handwriting skills from the early years and continue to refine them throughout their school life. Handwriting is not limited to language classes—it is an essential part of every subject and is regularly monitored and supported by all teachers.
✏️ Practice & Implementation
Classes I to V: Daily handwriting practice using cursive writing. Pencils only.
Classes VI to X: Weekly handwriting sessions; students may use blue or black pens.
Handwriting notebooks are mandatory from Class I to VIII.
No use of correction pens or white-out; neat single-line corrections only.
📋 Presentation Rules
All work must include proper headings, margins, and dates.
Notebooks should be clean, neatly maintained, and organized.
Diagrams must be drawn with pencils and labeled clearly in capital letters.
Overwriting and excessive decoration or doodling are discouraged.
👩🏫 Teacher & Classroom Support
All subject teachers monitor handwriting in every notebook.
Teachers model neat writing on the board and in corrected work.
Monthly reviews are conducted to identify students needing support.
Special remedial sessions are provided for students with persistent handwriting challenges.
🏅 Recognition & Encouragement
Monthly “Best Handwriting” awards in each class
Display of excellent work on the “Wall of Excellence”
Handwriting Stars of the Week to encourage consistency and effort
🤝 Parent Partnership
We invite parents to support handwriting practice at home. Occasional assignments will be given specifically for home reinforcement. Where necessary, we may recommend handwriting aids like special workbooks or pencil grips.
🌟 Our Goal
To ensure that every student of Soikholal Ideal High School writes with clarity, elegance, and confidence, developing a skill that will benefit them throughout life.
